Dortmund just hang on! It's Tschauner who puts the ball out with his header - and despite the cries for a penalty from several Hannover players after Jonathas goes to ground, the referee blows for full-time!
90' +4
More drama now as Jonathas and Dahoud butt heads following the awarding of a late-free kick to Hannover. It's 45 yards out on the right and Tschauner is coming up to the box too. Surely not...
90' +3
S. Papastathopoulos gets yellow.
Sokratis gets a booking now for time-wasting at the throw-in.
90' +2
A late free-kick now for Hannover after a reckless tackle some 30 yards out on the left wing away from the Dortmund goal. The visitors can't make it stick though and Akanji heads clear, before Ostrzolek knocks it out for a throw-in.
90'
And another near-miss for Batshuayi! That one is down more to some great defending from Sane that keeps the striker's shot out as a deflection off Tschauner falls to him. Three added minutes incoming.
89'
Off the post for Philipp! It's almost a carbon copy of that opening near-miss for Batshuayi, with the substitute through on goal and hitting the woodwork as he goes to slip it beneath Tschauner at the far-left side.
88'
25 total shots in this game from Dortmund and only the one goal to show. It look like it will be enough though; Hannover are trapped in their own half by some good pressure from their hosts.
86'
L. Maina enters the game and replaces M. Bakalorz.
Bakalorz is the final change for Hannover with Linton Mania arriving for the final few minutes.
85'
Batshuayi nearly seals the deal for Dortmund as a Schurrle cross finds a header - only for it to go straight to Tschauner.
84'
Time is running out for Hannover to salvage something from this game and they are not helped by Klaus tripping over a perfect pass into the box at the near-right post from Korb. Dortmund clear downfield.
Minute
Description
82'
Klaus hounds after a loose pass that cuts up the Dortmund defence and only Burki flying out of the box to clear stops the Hannover man from getting a shot away.
80'
Disallowed goal! Jonathas thinks he's bundled the ball in behind Burki from a Sarenren-Bazee cross, but he is denied once more by the linesman's flag as he is called offside.
79'
M. Akanji gets yellow.
A booking for Dortmund's Akanji now after a rather undignified challenge on the newly-arrived Fossum.
78'
I. Fossum enters the game and replaces O. Sorg.
Sorg makes way for Iver Fossum now as the ball goes out for a throw-in.
Weigl's effort drifts wide of the mark this time and Hannover spirit it away from danger.
77'
Another Dortmund corner and this time Batshuayi's header is cleared out by Sane. A fourth corner in as many minutes coming for the hosts.
76'
It's Anton who clears as far as Sokratis and the Dortmund man's second effort goes way over the crossbar.
75'
A corner for Dortmund now as Batshuayi sees his effort from outside the right edge of the box take a glance off Anton.
73'
N. Sarenren Bazee enters the game and replaces N. Füllkrug.
Now comes the first switch for the visitors, with Noah-Joel Sarenren-Bazee coming on for Fullkrug.
71'
No changes yet from Hannover, interestingly, as they concede a foul in midfield on Gotze.
70'
M. Philipp enters the game and replaces C. Pulišić.
Pulisic's chance there is his last act of the game; Dortmund make their final change with Maximilian Philipp arriving in his place.
69'
Pulisic! The forward misses a chance from the right side of the box as he skews a shot in space. Tschauner wasn't exactly out of place but it would have been a simple one to slot home.
68'
The visitors get a second fre-kick, this one 45 yards out on the left, with Schwegler punts into the box. Shouts for a penalty for an apparent handball by Schmelzer go up but the referee waves them away and Dortmund counter at speed.
67'
Dortmund concede a free-kick in the opposition box as Schurrle goes hunting a goal; the forward catches Sorg with a trip and Hannover get the ball.
65'
That would have been a spectacular goal for Bakalorz if it had stuck! The midfielder puts a mid-air volley on a cross from Schwegler into the box and Burki stops it with a leap. Hannover continue to press.
64'
J. Weigl enters the game and replaces G. Castro.
A second change for the hosts now as Julian Weigl arrives to replace Castro.
63'
The visitors block Schurrle's effort at the first man and counter swiftly with their own move, one that ends with a whimper rather than a bang as Fullkrug tamely puts his effort over the crossbar.
62'
This is much more urgent football by Hannover and it seems to have caught Dortmund on the back foot; the hosts are scrambling a little in defence. They counter the latest threat smartly though - and a deflection for a Castro shot from distance gives them a corner.
60'
Shouts for a penalty are waved away as Ostrzolek goes down challenging and Dortmund clear. Hannover come again through Klaus, who puts a wonderful flat pass in for Jonathas, only for the Brazilian to have overstepped his mark.
59'
Corner to Hannover now as Bakalorz sneaks down the right and sees his cross bundled out by Akanji.
57'
Another Hannover attack now, with Klaus the man supplied by a neat dink into the box from Korb - and again, the visitors are denied by the linesman's flag.
56'
Down the other end, Hannover have a chance, as Jonathas puts a header of his own wide - but he was offside regardless at the delivery in for his attempt from Klaus.
55'
A neat move down the right wing by Pulisic is finished with a cross for Batshuayi to meet in the Hannover box - but the striker's header spills wide and out for a goal-kick.
53'
It's a total of 16 shots now for the hosts, with only the one goal to show; despite having just under half the amount of possession as Dortmund, Hannover are still in with a shout of a point here.
51'
It's a weaker effort from Schurrle this time and Tschauner gets the goal-kick after Batshuayi taps it wide. Dortmund attack again with another through-ball for Dahoud but this time they are pinged for offside.
50'
A second corner now for the hosts after the first tees up a second Dahoud strike from just outside the box that is deflected off his own man and tipped out again by the keeper.
49'
Hannover earn a corner which Schwegler turns in wonderfully, with Fullkrug almost landing a header at the far-right post - but out of that, Dortmund counter with a swift attack of their own, earning a corner too after Dahoud's effort through traffic in the box is deflected by Tschauner.
47'
An early sniff of a chance for Dortmund as Dahoud puts Schurrle through on the left flank - but the forward is caught in the offside trap as he skews his shot across goal under pressure from Tschauner.
46'
S. Papastathopoulos enters the game and replaces Ö. Toprak.
We're back underway in Dortmund and the hosts have made a change at the break in their back four; Toprak is off after a little niggle in the late stages of the first half and Sokratis takes his place.
45' +1
A single minute of added time sees Hannover play out the last few seconds holding off Schurrle again down the wing and a Korb tackle to put the ball out for a throw signals the half-time whistle.
44'
Schurrle tries his luck from distance and blasts a 25-yard effort over the crossbar.
42'
A brief stoppage in play now for Schmelzer to get some treatment for his leg.
40'
Double chance for Hannover! Out of nowhere, Fullkrug weaves off on a 60-yard run that allows him to tee up an effort for Schwegler at the right post. The midfielder's effort is blocked at close range by Burki - and his follow-up header goes straight to the keeper too. That's more like it from the visitors.
38'
Schwegler is fouled trying to defend the left edge of his box and gets a free-kick that Hannover only clear as far as halfway before Klaus gives the ball away to Dahoud.
36'
Dortmund could be miles ahead here, with nine shots compared to two lacklustre efforts from Hannover. Tschauner's keeping is doing a solid job of keeping them only a goal down.
34'
Frantic keeping from Tschauner denies Batshuayi a second goal after Sane's header trying to clear a Schurrle cross lands at the striker's feet. He tries one, two, three times from close range and each is deflected by the Hannover man who eventually grabs the ball at the third time of asking. Nervy stuff for the visitors.
33'
Schwegler now earns a free-kick inside his own half on the left edge after he comes together with Akanji. The two players tussle for a moment and the referee addresses them both at length, though no cards are produced.
31'
Pulisic is almost away on the right flank, but his ball control is lacking as he approaches the box and Anton is able to sweep in and clear.
29'
It's a poor effort in the end from the Dortmund forward, lofted well over the box and the crossbar. Hannover get the goal-kick.
28'
P. Schwegler gets yellow.
Schwegler is belatedly booked for that effort too as Gotze steps up to take.
27'
Free-kick now to Dortmund again as Schwegler brings down Piczszek 25 yards out on the right wing. The hosts have renewed their all-out attack on the Hannover defence after that score.
26'
That goal of course means Hannover have now gone 12 games in a row without a clean sheet - and has them already looking down the barrel of a fourth consecutive defeat too, unless they recover swiftly.
24'
M. Batshuayi has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by A. Schürrle.
It was another great corner from Schurrle but that touch from Batshuayi is going to be on video replay for weeks to come. What a goal.
What a back-heel from Batshuayi! The on-loan striker gets his sixth goal in seven games for Dortmund with the most outrageous of efforts, leaping to meet Schurrle's corner from the left and meeting it in mid-air with a clipped right foot to direct it behind Tschauner. Dortmund hit the front.
23'
Corner to Dortmund now as Korb deflects Castro's kick around the edge of the box. It's a superb effort too; Tschauner is forced to rise at the near-left post to punch the effort away for another corner kick,
21'
Free-kick to Hannover just inside Dortmund's half on the left now, which Schwegler floats into the box looking for a header, only to find Toprak who clears with little difficulty.
19'
Hannover look to have settled a little more now after that early spell of intense Dortmund pressure, with Korb pressing Schmelzer into a mis-hit cross again that goes straight to Tschauner in goal.
17'
Schmelzer puts a crossfield ball out to Piszczek on the right wing as Dortmund look to advance from halfway; the defender's effort has too much weight behind it however and skids out for a Hannover throw-in.
15'
Free-kick to Hannover inside their own box after Dahoud was deemed to have fouled Schwegler when the pair both went up for a loose header off Sane.
13'
A fine flat pass into the visitors' box from Pulisic again catches out the Hannover defence - but also Dortmund's attack, as Batshuayi and Gotze both overrun the delivery, allowing Sorg to clear.
11'
Hannover create a well-worked chance out of nothing, with a long ball to Klaus on the edge of the box from Fullkrug. He clips it back for Jonathas - but the Brazilian's effort goes straight to the hands of Burki, who claims with a degree of comfort.
9'
Schurrle finds himself ten feet out from the Hannover goal after Anton botches an attempted clearing effort, but under pressure from Sane, his half-volley screams over the crossbar.
8'
Bakalorz clears the effort for the visitors and Hannover create a ramshackle counter downfield, only for Klaus to be pinged for offside as he was fed a ball from Korb.
7'
Corner to Dortmund now but Hannover are not happy after Batshuayi's effort from distance is deflected out by Sane; they believe that Schurrle took the ball out of play in the build-up after he was gifted another cross in the box.
5'
This is a full-throttle opening from the home side, with Hannover's defence all at sea. Schurrle chases a lofted cross out to the left wing in line with the opposition box, but Sorg manages to turn it away from danger and clear it downfield.
3'
Dortmund come again, this time with Castroi supplying a cross in from the right edge of the penalty area that just slips behind Batshuayi - but the linesman calls for a Hannover free-kick after Piszczek brings down Anton in back-play challenging for the ball.
1'
We're underway in Dortmund and high drama already! The hosts, in their home strip of yellow and black, press deep with the first attack and a wonderful through-ball to Batshuayi puts the forward behind the Hannover defence and into the box. With only the keeper to beat, he drills it low for the bottom right corner - and it bounces off the post! Gotze and Pulisic both blow follow-up chances and the visitors survive an early scare.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the 2017-18 Bundesliga, as Borussia Dortmund look to cut the gap to second place against Hannover at Signal Iduna Park. BVB trail FC Schalke by four points ahead of today's clash; against a side they slipped up against last October, can they keep up the chase for the top two? Or will the Reds achieve a domestic double for the first time since 2008?
An Ihlas Bebou double at the HDI-Arena helped Andre Breitenreiter's side to a shock 4-2 win back in the autumn, but it's been tough work for Hannover since; they have only won three league games, all at home, and come looking for their first point in a month since a draw with Koln in February.
As for Dortmund, they are unbeaten since Peter Stoger replaced Peter Bosz in December after a poor Champions League campaign, winning six and drawing five. They have also not tasted defeat at home on a Sunday for almost eight years; Bayer Leverkusen last inflicted such a loss back in 2010.
As for Hannover, Jonathas comes off the bench in place of Ihlas Bebou after the Togolese striker picked up a fifth yellow card of the season last weekend against Augsburg, in what is one of several switches as the Reds rotate their side in an attempt to revitalise their season.
Michy Batshuayi has been directly involved in six goals in six Bundesliga games since arrive from Chelsea on loan, netting five and assisting another. He averages a scorer point for every 80 minutes of action – a return only Robert Lewandowski can better this year (77 minutes; min. 2 goals/assists).
BVB have scored five times after the 88th minute since Stoger took charge, earning an additional five points in the process. Late goals have been a trademark of the former Koln manager's tenure; 12 of 18 overall have come in the second half, eight of which have been netted after the 70-minute mark.
Breitenreiter’s men are on an 11-game wait for a clean sheet – the longest such run in the league as it stands. They're still a few games shy of their own worst streak; the last time they waited longer for one was between December 2015 and April 2016 (15 games).
The teams are out at a sun-kissed Signal Iduna Park and kick-off is moments away.
Team news now and the big news for Dortmund is that Marco Reus is not fit to play. The German forward was subbed at half-time for Alexander Isak against RB Salzburg in midweek in the Europa League; Christian Pulisic takes his place in the starting line-up in one of three changes for the hosts.
Dortmund have the lead at Signal Iduna Park but will feel they could have consolidated this game a long time ago. A Michy Batshuayi effort means they control the scoresheet - but given their dominance elsewhere across the park, they should be ahead by at least a few more goals. At half-time, it's Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Hannover.
A Michy Batshuayi back-heel in the first half is enough to give Dortmund the win at Signal Iduna Park, in a game high on chances if low on quality finishing. Hannover gave it their all in the second half to try and take something away - but the on-loan Chelsea man's goal was enough to separate the pair and keep the hosts on track for a Champions League place. At full-time, it finishes Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Hannover.
For the Reds, they face another tough challenge next time out as they look to avoid five defeats in a row against RB Leipzig, whilst Dortmund tackle league leaders Bayern Munich in what could very well be one of the Bundesliga games of the year. Until then however, thank you for joining us - and have a good week!
