Another big chance comes and goes for Porto, as Soares latches onto Alex Telles' ball into the area but diverts off target. It sums up the night for the hosts.
Four minutes added on at the end of the second-half and Besiktas are just a few minutes away from securing their first ever win on the opening match day of the Champions League group stages.
87'
N. Uysal enters the game and replaces Adriano.
Negredo deserves credit for his part in the play as he partnered Babel superbly.
Final change for Besiktas and, unsurprisingly, it's a defensive one. Adriano Correia is replaced by Necip Uysal at right-back.
86'
R. Babel has scored a goal for Besiktas! Assist by Álvaro Negredo.
That's the game! Besiktas get their third after superb play between Babel and substitute Negredo. A slick one-two gives the Dutchman the goal at his mercy and he slots home with ease.
84'
Hernani immediately has a sight at goal following his introduction as the ball falls to him on the edge of the area. However, his low shot drags wide of thr target.
82'
Hernâni enters the game and replaces Danilo Pereira.
Last roll of the dice from Porto who make another attack-minded change, bringing on Hernani for Danilo Pereira.
81'
André André gets yellow.
Andre Andre takes one for the team as he hauls Talisca to the ground to prevent a Besiktas counter.
79'
Babel has shown flashes of brilliance this match and he's skinned his man with ease there, though his cross into the area was into the one position where Besiktas lacked attacking support.
78'
When Porto have created chances they've been very wasteful. Danilo and Pereira combine out wide to create a good crossing opportunity, with the ball then cut-back to Brahimi just inside the area but he fires an effort way over the bar.
76'
A very frustrating period of the match from Porto, who looked to be very threatening but have waned in the past ten minutes. Besiktas are now dealing with their attacks comfortably, whilst still showing threat on the counter.
73'
Álvaro Negredo enters the game and replaces Ricardo Quaresma.
Here comes the big man as Alvaro Negredo comes on for Besiktas. Ricardo Quaresma leaves the field to a standing ovation from the home supporters, who fondly remeember his two spells with the club.
Minute
Description
70'
Now twenty minutes to go and Porto's attacking threat has quelled in the past five minutes or so. Besiktas have managed this game superbly and Porto are showing increasing signs of frustration.
67'
C. Erkin gets yellow.
Caner Erkin has had plenty of warnings for time wasting and enters Anthony Taylor's book for his latest offence.
Otavio wastes a glorious opportunity as he clips a ball back to Fabri rather than testing the Besiktas stopper, which pretty much sums up what the hosts have been like in attack- very good until they get a sight of goal.
66'
Porto are really banging on the door now and a fantastic piece of build-up play presents a golden opportunity. Brahimi is once again involved with a deft backheel to Marega, who's low delivery into the box cannot find a team-mate.
65'
G. Medel enters the game and replaces O. Özyakup.
That's Ozyakup's last contribution to the match as Besiktas make a defensive change, bringing on Chilean international Gary Medel to slot into the midfield.
63'
Brahimi has really turned up the heat since the break and the Algerian looks like the best avenue for a Porto equaliser. He dances his way into the box but cannot defeat the experienced Pepe, who puts it behind for a corner. From that set-piece, Ozyakup is well placed to comfortably clear Marcano's header off the line.
62'
A big chance has been coming for Porto and that might have been it. Brahimi slots through a perfectly placed ball to Soares but Fabri is quick of his line and stretches out to secure a fine save.
61'
Half an hour to go and Porto are still on top. Besiktas look content on holding back and hitting their hosts on the counter-attack as they look to hang on to what would be a historic victory, ending their woeful record on the opening match day of the Champions League.
56'
Danilo has been a lot more involved in the second-half for Porto and he's just seen a shot deflected beind for a corner. Alex Telles' delivery is diverted behind for another corner, which is then dealt with rather comfortably.
55'
Big chance for the visitors as Quaresma's head finds Tosun at the far post but he can only hit the side netting, despite the experienced Casillas flapping.
53'
Porto have dominated since the restart but Besiktas have dealt with everything thrown their way so far. The hosts seem on the verge of creating a big opportunity though, as Soares fails to get a strong enough touch on the ball as Danilo feeds a pass through the defensive line.
51'
Huge shouts for handball from the hosts as Soares smashes a shot into Hutchinson, which clearly strikes the arm of the Besiktas man. It was from very close range though so it was impossible for the midfielder to prevent it but it means the fans continue to climb onto Anthony Taylor's back.
50'
Besiktas haven't looked comfortable defensively all game and Pepe has just played Fabri into trouble with a weak back pass, which the keeper has to jump on to prevent substitute Otavio from having an open goal to aim at.
49'
First chance of the second-half falls the way of Brahimi, who's shot is blocked by Atiba Hutchinson.
46'
André André enters the game and replaces J. Corona.
Otávio enters the game and replaces Óliver Torres.
Change at the break for Porto, as Oliver Torres is replaced by Otavio.
Besiktas get us underway in what should be a very intriguing second-half!
There's also a second change for Porto at the break, as Jesus Corona comes off to be replaced by Andre Andre.
45'
Two minutes added on at the end of the first-half.
44'
Besiktas are definitely the stronger side at the moment though, despite seeing less of the ball, and Quaresma has a deflected effort saved by Iker Casillas. The visitors won't want the half to end at this rate!
43'
Marega again charges through and Porto have half-hearted appeals for a penalty once again, claiming that Pepe was guilty of a handball.
41'
Porto are still creating chances though and Marega is proving to be very difficult to track. The Besiktas' defenders are just about keeping him quiet though but it may be a matter of time until the Malian international has a big chance.
39'
Another attack for Besiktas, another sight of goal. Talisca, who scored the opener, has another sight of goal but his initial touch his poor and he's unable to strike the ball cleanly, firing an effort way over the top of the net.
38'
Oguzhan Ozyakup has been rather quiet in this first half but he has a real chance of extending Besiktas' lead after a slick one-two with Babel. However, he strikes off target and fails to test Casillas.
37'
Besiktas are still looking dangerous going forward and Caner Erkin delivers a pin-point ball into Porto's area which the hosts struggle to deal with. However, none of the attacking players are able to get onto the end of it and the chance goes begging.
35'
Porto are starting to enjoy another fine period on the ball and they'll be looking to make it count, just like they did previously. Marega has earned a free-kick after clattering with Adriano Correia and Torres steps-up to take it. However, his floating delivery bounces behind for a goal kick.
33'
Porto are banging on the door for an equaliser and Soares is close to curling a low effort into the bottom right-hand corner, after latching onto a through ball from Corona.
32'
Pereira is looking dangerous on the right-side when he gets forward and it's another fine delivery from the full-back but unfortunately there's no-one on the end of it. Marega soon gets another sight of goal but he lashes an effort into the side netting, when he would have been better off trying to find a team-mate in the middle.
30'
Besiktas are a mess at the back at times but their attacking line is looking on-form this evening. Talisca is running the show in midfield and Tosun is showing why he's so highly-rated by many on the continent.
28'
C. Tosun has scored a goal for Besiktas! Assist by C. Erkin.
Caner Erkin gets the assist but it really was a chance out of nothing!
What a goal! Cenk Tosun has hit a fantastic strike to give Besiktas the lead again! The chance seemed to come from nothing as he picked up the ball a long way out and set his sights on goal. The visitors have the lead again!
27'
Porto have a deep free kick, which Oliver Torres takes, but Besiktas manage to get it away. They fail to clear their lines though and Torres tries a pop from outside the box, though his effort is charged down.
25'
Besiktas are really looking open at the back, as they fail to deal with Marega's delivery and Jesus Corona tries to poke it home from the near post. It goes behind for anorher corner but Telles' delivery is too high for Ivan Marcano to threaten the goal with.
22'
Shouts for a penalty from Porto! The hosts have hit their stride in the past few minutes and a neat ball through to Soares is dangerous but Pep is on hand with a decisive block. The appeals are for handball but Anthony Taylor correctly waves away the protests.
21'
D. Tošić is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
There's the equaliser! Alex Telles' corner is whipped into a dangerous area, where Marega is lurking, but Serbian international Dusko Tosic gets the decisive touch as he diverts the ball back into his own net.
19'
Off the post! Porto come agonisingly cose to an equaliser. A lofted ball into the area can't be directed goalwards by Soares but it falls kindly to Oliver Torres. The former Atletico Madrid man strikes a fine low shot goalwards, which has Fabri beaten, but it bounces off the inside of the post before being dealt with by Besiktas' defence.
17'
Talisca is getting plenty of abuse for the home supporters and he's clattered to the ground by Alex Telles, who is rather fortunate to escape a yellow card.
15'
Prior to that goal, Porto had gone five consecutive matches without conceding- scoring 12 goals in the process. Besiktas have looked shaky in defence at times so there's certainly an opportunity for the hosts to claw back into the match, although both Marega and Soares lack experience in the Champions League and make their competition debuts this evening.
13'
Talisca has scored a goal for Besiktas! Assist by Ricardo Quaresma.
Besiktas take the lead! Porto have conceded for the first time this season and it's Talisca, on-loan from Benfica, who heads past Iker Casillas to give the Black Eagles the lead.
Ricardo Quaresma provided the assist with a superb cross but credit must also go to Tosun for the build-up, as he combined with Talisca before the former's deflected shot found it's way to Quaresma out wide.
11'
Ricardo Pereira is the first man in Anthony Taylor's book, receiving a yellow card after hauling Cenk Tosun to the ground just outside of Besiktas' penalty area.
10'
Ricardo Pereira gets yellow.
7'
Adriano puts the ball behind for a Porto corner, which Oliver Torres takes, but the Spaniard's delivery is easily collected by Fabri.
5'
Besiktas are looking good goind forward and it's Ryan Babel who has the latest effort, which takes a decisive touch off defender Felipe and loops safely over Casilla's net. The Spaniard then collects the following corner, ensuring there's no danger from the set-piece.
4'
Ricardo Quaresma, against his former side, has Besiktas' first sight of goal but his effort is a way off testing Iker Casillas- who this evening makes his 174th in the competition, a tournament record.
1'
We're underway in Porto! The hosts get us underway, kicking from right to left.
Moussa Marega has the first shot on target inside of a minute, taking down the pass from strike-partner Francisco Soares with his chest but it's a comfortable save for Fabri in the Besiktas net.
Good evening and welcome to our LIVE text coverage of Porto v Besiktas in the Champions League, where both sides will be looking to get their group stage campaigns off to the best possible start.
Porto have reached the knock-out stages in three of their past six campaigns in the Champions Legaue but know they have a stern test this year with RB Leipzig and Monaco in their group. A victory against Besiktas, who've never won an opening fixture, is expected but the Portuguese side will be aware of the risk of an upset after seeing rivals Benfica lose to CSKA Moscow last night.
Besiktas have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season, winning three of their four matches, but know they have a big ask of them in the Champions League. A third-place finish and passage to the Europa League would be the ideal scenario for the Turkish giants but they'll likely have to take points off Porto this evening.
Porto XI: Casillas; R. Pereira, Felipe, Marcano, Telles; Corona, Torres, D.Pereira, Brahimi; Marega, Soares
Porto make two changes to the side that beat Chaves at the weekend, with Ricardo Pereira and Francisco Soares coming into the side. Miguel Layun and Vincent Aboubaker are the two players who drop out, with the latter, who spent last year on-loan with Besiktas, not in the squad due to suspension.
Besiktas have also changed their side following a 1-0 victory over Karabukspor at the weekend, making four changes. Adriano Correia, Atiba Hutchinson, Cenk Tosun and Ricardo Quaresma come into the team, the latter of whom plays against his former side. Alvaro Negredo, Jeremain Lens and Necip Uysal drop to the bench, whilst Tolgay Arslan doesn't make the squad.
These two sides last met in the Europa League group stages back in the 2010/11 season, with Porto winning 3-1 in Turkey and Besiktas taking a point off the Dragons at the Estadio do Dragao.
The whistle goes to bring an end to what has been a very enjoying first-half that's been full of attacking play, though many won't have expected Besiktas to hold the lead.
Porto have had decent opportunities and have tested the Besiktas defence but they'll certainly want more from their creative players in the second-half. Yacine Brahimi has been almost invinsible in opening 45 minutes and Jesus Corona on the other flank has also had his influence limited. Centrally, Oliver Torres looks strong but Danilo Pereira needs to get involved more.
Besiktas haven't looked strong in defence but their performance in attack has been thrilling. Talisca, on-loan from Benfica, has been a thorn in the side of Porto throughout the match and Cenk Tosun has also impressed up front. With Ryan Babel and Ricardo Quaresma also looking dangerous from the flanks, the Turkish side look good value to win on the opening match day of the Champions League for the first time.
That's a wrap! Besiktas may have ruined a few accumulators with this result but it's a deserved victory. Talisca put the visitors ahead with a thunderous header but it was swiftly cancelled out by an own-goal from Dusko Tosic. Cenk Tosun gave the visitors the lead once again though with a superb strike, with Ryan Babel then sealing the result late in the second-half.
That result brings an end to Porto's perfect start to the season and Sergio Canceicao experiences his first defeat in charge of the Portuguese side. They'll have to rally together to turn things around in the group as difficult trips to Monaco and Leipzig follow this match, whilst they still have to travel to Turkey to face tonight's opponents.
For Besiktas it's a historic victory that gets them off to a flying start in the group stages. Further tests are on the horizon but the Turkish side have laid down a marker with their performance tonight and should be ones to watch in the coming months.
